COP27 President heads to the UAE to participate in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week
Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, President of the 27th session of the Conference of Parties (COP27) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), will head on Sunday evening, January 15, 2023, to the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi where he will participate in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit as a keynote speaker in the session scheduled to be held on Monday, January 16, that will address the outcomes of COP27 that Egypt hosted in Sharm El-Sheikh last November.
Minister Shoukry will shed light during the event on the important outcomes of COP27, which contribute to strengthening international climate action at various levels, and means to build upon them in the framework of preparing for the next session of the climate conference, COP28, to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates at the end of this year.
Minister Shoukry is also scheduled to meet on the sidelines of the event with his ministerial counterparts and senior officials concerned with international climate action, to consult and exchange views on climate change issues in light of the outcomes of Sharm El-Sheikh conference, in addition to conducting a number of interviews with Gulf, Arab and international media.
